Assign one note to all pads

Sorry for my newbism, but how do i assign a sample to all 16 pads in a bank and and have the sample be the root note and have a range of notes? is this possible with the mpc 2kxl? does anyone understand what im trying to do?

I think for what your trying to do the answer is the 16 level button. Set it to tune and where it says original pad that will be your root key.

press the 16 levels button, you should be able to figure it out from there. this will automatically set the sample to all 16 pads change alter the tune by 10 units from pad to pad (ie. A3 = -10, A4 = 0, A5 = 10, A6 = 20, A7 = 30 etc). If you want to set each pad's tune manually you can do this in the program screen by assign the sound to all the pads and then changing the tune for each pad in the param screen.
