Ok, so I got a new memory card reader in my MPC - but my new concerns are

1. How safe is my data on them ?

2. Which is better and less prone to dataloss or errors the SD card or the CF card ?

3. I know they store more but are they more safe than Zip disks ?

4 How much abuse can these new media cards take ?

Although I intend to back-up my data from the cards, its still good to know the tolorance level of this media... any ideas or war stories ?

Mantis,

dem tings are kool but u still need to take or them same way, keep them away from magnets, u know the usual bullcrap u got to do.
I prefer CF's card cause they more sterdy and stronger in build.
plug u can get them up to 2gig.. i will email u a website that details the full ins and outs on SD and CF cards,

edit...

I keep my cf card in the mpc all the time, I taje it out as little as possible, only If I have to do a backup or to transfer samples from a pc to the MPC.

yep, and make sure to back up your files..... nothing is 100% protected.
