Computer Recording

God damn there are so many computer recording choices out there. Which one would you suggest that is easy to operate? You would be confused with all the choices out there as well. I would appreciate anyones advice.

Computer recording offers a wide variety of options for recording, but it depends on what kind of setup you need to accomodate. I too am having trouble looking for a good sound card for my PC that will allow me to record both digital and analog.
SO... if you are referring to hardware that will allow you to record onto your system you're talking about either fancy sound cards with digital I/O (or in and out ports) and MIDI I/O (check out something like: M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI Digital Audio Card) or you're looking into something like a USB pro-tools setup (see: Digidesign Mbox Factory Bundle with Pro Tools LE software)

But... if you're refering to software thats a completely different story. There are thousands (more than I can list) of software options each with their own unique functions, so it depends on what you want to do with the software. Popular choices? Pro tools, Reason 3.0, Cubase, Line 6, Sony ACID, Ableton Live, and the list goes on and on.

I suggest going onto a site like musiciansfriend.com and looking around at the software and hardware and making your decisions after you fully understand what all of these products do individually. Then make a choice from there.

What do you mean by "easy to operate"


You have to be more specific - then your chances will rise to get a more specific answer.


If you want "easy to operate" - a MPC1000 is a very good option!

I checked and here are some options. 1. PreSonus FIREPOD 10 Channel I/O FireWire Interface with Cubase LE 2. Digidesign Mbox Factory Bundle or
3. Lexicon Omega Desktop Recording Studio. I wanted to know what was best with recording a MPC 2000XL or 1000 with A Yahama Motif ES8,Nord Lead2x 49-Key Keyboard and a Korg Electribe A mkII. Sorry to bother yall but im having a hard time understanding what would be the best recording option. 1 LUV.
