my 1k will freez everytime i try to save with my flash card, the one it came with btw....should i reformat it? but uhhh, how do i reformat the flash card?

mode -> save or load -> format (i think f3)
u might try another cf card and check if your reader in the mpc works fine

try another card...for example kingston 512mb cf
but you can't really "check" wheather the cf reader is really working or not...
