How do you group your sounds into the 8-Outs?

When you're using the 8-outs, but you have more than 8 sounds in your track, and some sounds are stereo......
How do you decide which sounds go together on the same outputs?

I group hi freq. sounds with hi freq. sounds, lows with lows, than I usually run my bass hits and snares out seperate into a compressor than into the recorder. Sometimes it depends on what I want to standout, Ill put the background stuff together in the back and the standout stuff alone...Im pretty new to this myself but this works for me, just experimentin and workin offa trial and error.
