1k and MS200BR

Hi I got my 1k 2 moths ago and really love the beast. I just cant keep my fingers of it. I am really considering adding a synth though and was looking at the ms2000Br (rack) as I own a MIDI controller. Anyone out there using one?? I was just wondering if people were happy with it. I saw some for like $350 on ebay and thought that sounds like a pretty good deal. I was playing arround with one the other day at the store and thought it sounded pretty fat. Anyway any input be cool..

i have a ms2000 keyboard and love it. If you want good synth basses and leads you can't go wrong. Some of the dw waveforms provide nice ep's and organs too. Check out the harmony central reviews if you want to hear what other people think...

Do you us the arpeggiator?? what do u think of it??

I use the ms2000 blue rack with the 1k and it works nicely. It is not multitimberal though, so that might be a drawback to you. Otherwise, it's sounds great and has nice realtime controls. The arpeggiator seems to work okay for me, although some people say it drifts sometimes.

The difference is only in the pre-programmed patches between the black and blue models, so if you have the choice you might look into getting the blue one used. I picked mine up at the local Guitar Center's used gear counter for $200 out the door.

Yeah the arp is nice. It does tend to drift a bit, but the last os cleaned it up... There is a great yahoo group for the ms, look it up. They have all the patches you need there. Plus I think you can get some of them off the korg website. Man, 200 for the rack is a steal... good score

im not vary familiar with yahoo groups, is there a more specific search i can make? do you happen to have a link to this group?

just to reply about bigmans comment on it not being multitimbral. it is multitimbral, it has two timbers and both can be played on differnent midi channels. get that dude,, the step sequencer is wonders of fun. you can assign any three differnent parameters of all the controls on the ms2000 to the step sequencer for crazyness. also you can route seqences from the mpc into the ms2000 for effect processing,, also again with the seqencer it is fun to filter the sIHt out your loops and whatnot. cheerio
