16 Levels Note Variation and my Keyboard....

ok, I've got a noob question:

When I have one sound (sine bass or whateva) and I use the NOTE VAR function, why does it spread oer my pads but not on the keyboard. Is this even possible, or am i just doin it wrong? Thanks foir the help!

P.S. I did a search in the forum first, but couldn't get the right answer...

go SHIFT+ PROGRAM, DRUM2, then assign ur bass sample to a pad, then go to PARAMS, then AUTO, then DO IT...this should work for you if you have your keyboard hooked correctly
