3 questions regarding sp-303

I've been checking the manual and STFW but I still have some questions regarding this machine.

1. Can I resample 2 pads to 1 pad on the sp-303?

2. Can I copy one sample or part of a sample to another pad?

3. Say,I have a kick sample in bank 'a' and a snare sample in bak 'B', can I now record a pattern containing these 2 samples.

Want to get good use out of the SP303?
Think of it as an effects unit or processor not a sampler.
That's where it gets its shine on.

i had one like 4 years ago. didnt find good use for it in my setup

yes....press one of the two samples you want to combine, then press resample, then press an empty pad, then press record... then press the two pads that u want to combine in the way that you want and to stop the recording, press record.....

pretty much do the same thing as the first question, and trim the copied sample to the way you want it....

yes....u just gotta switch the banks accordingly.....

but i agree with the first response.... use it for effects more... the sequencer sux.... eventually u will move on to something more powerfull... the 303 just got mad hype for obvious reasons, and it can get very annoying to use... but if u like it then tight....i use mine as a blunt holder now.....but when i want my drums extra dirty and blunted, i stick roaches in the outs on the back and blow all my hits directly over the 8 pads...when i got a really hot beat, i empty a bag of h on it to cook it nice like....thats another way to make your beats sound dope....

good question.. My sp won't let me change banks withouth one of the samples turning off, but a friend of mine also has a sp and his will do it no problem. I bought mine when they first came out and he bought his a few years later so I'm guessing the newer modles will let you do this.

but I've never had the need to do this.. you have 8 pads per bank!!

Thanks for the answers guys, I realise the sp-303 is not really a standalone beatmaking machine but I was just interested in getting one to take with me on hollidays when I get mpc withdrawal syndrome + use it as an fx unit in my lab + extra sampler.
