here we go again....

you can have my two cents. I owned two 2000xl's and a S2000. I sold them because they have too many options for my limited attention span.

I currently own a 3000 and a 60. I last time I used my 3000 was about 2 months ago and have been rockin my 60 ever since. It's nice and easy to use. If my 3000 was 12bit then I would keep it b/c the long sample time is a nice luxury..but I have a S950 so I pretty much all the sample time I need with the 60.

60's are easy to use and they sound good.

Actually there is a current Court Order brought forth by one of members here that prevents me from publicly speaking out against the MPC60.
There was no clarification as to if it pretained the the mkI or mkII, in light of this I will simplify my answer.
The 60 is not better than any other MPC, it just comes down to your personal preference, what other gear you have, and how you like to work.
You don't lose with any MPC, you just hinder your creative nature if it's the wrong one for you.

I've heard a lot of people in this forum talk about the 60 like it's better than the 2K, 1K, 3K, and 4K...

Well it is the 60 forum

I got it cos everyone else I know got one first. It was after i bought my 2k. LOL! SYKE!

YO! I only made like one track so far on the mpc60 it was by far the easiest and fastest and probably the phatest track I have ever done on the MPC series. So from now on all my beats will be done on it. My 2k will do nuthin but vocal samples and music samples I sync to the 2k only because I just havent had the chace to experiement with doin it vice versa. Although I may just find the same results the 60 just being the more efficient work space.

Your gotta be jokin, that CAN'T be real.

This is just because of personal tastes and hardcore pride in your gear that's all. Nothing more. To each his/her own right.

Nah, it just me and him been trippin on the 60 for a minute because
I talk negative about and use it everyday.
So I try to be cautious with comments.
If you don't know where I comin from you might miss read my statements.
Plus I might even say something dumb like;

I like the 60 but I don't like the 60

Ntalex, ha ha :lol:

nah man speak your mind if you want, ain;t no court order!! but certainly might not be the best place for the discussion, since I find 60 owners don;t have too mnay problems with people pwning other MPC's, but everybody has to down and sweat the 60 and can't get how less is more for some people, so I think it would get ugly like most of the threads in the 60 / 3000 forum have been doing.

But Fire at will ;)

I think you summed it up best here:

The 60 is not better than any other MPC, it just comes down to your personal preference, what other gear you have, and how you like to work.
You don't lose with any MPC, you just hinder your creative nature if it's the wrong one for you.

Nah El, I have a new agenda now.
Since I couldn't turn you to the dark side I will just keep feeding you ASR and SP pills . :lol: :wink:

Two things people need to feel about 60 users;
1) there just so many options out there now that if you didn't want to use a 60 you don't have to so a high percentage of the 60 users have used something else.
Be it another MPC that did too much or too little, a computer, a groovebox, etc.
This means that if the 60 is right for you, it should be easier to tell, once you start working on it.
A first time MPC user may or may not see the difference that easily.

2) If you understand the capapbilities and limitations of the 60 when you buy it, and have based your purchase on this it's a pretty satisfying box.
The 60 is very similiar to the 1200mkII's; after all these years it's still just as effective as it ever was.

My problems with the 60 are me things, but I have other gear to do what I don't like about the 60 so I don't have to hate on it.

I'm not going to be as direct as jaem was but The Beat Conductor do you at least have a MPC?
