I went with binger because of tha quality. Both were hot but tha quality of Fluent's was a lil off.

this is a good battle cause me and flu somewhat have the same style and tastes. Flus is tight, i think thats a sun ra sample up in there with some grimy ring mod goin on. Shit is dope.

I heard better from bing but he still gets my vote on this one.Im not telling anyone how to vote, but are we judging people as engineers, or who makes your head knock. It doesnt hurt to mention the sound quality but Ive seen alot of post about sound quality raher than I can relate to this beat more than the other. 8)

my beat sounds exactly how i want it to sound. there is no compromise in my mixing techniques, i like it to sound a certain way

Binger, no doubt, though there was something about FLUENT's that i liked. Bing's drums just mopped the floor though. top notch.

look - i'm not sure what alot of you guys are trying to prove by not quantizing your beats, but there's nothing more amateur sounding than lack of rhythm on the hats, snares, etc.

I'ma have to go with Binger on this one. I think a MC could better use Fluent's beat better and I don't know what Bing would do with his but the overall production is better...Bing's drums are on point which was one of the things that helped win me over.

wtf is with all these sloppy beats and everyone so damn proud that their stuff sounds like it's falling apart at the seams or was programmed by a ten year old that's been eating lead paint chips? and either out of lack of taste or just to be nice nobody says a thing about it, just keep pattin' the other guy on the back having him think his sh*t is dope. how does that help to make someone strive to be better? FLUENT's hats are off the mark, period. hell, even the kick/snare lack any real 'movement'. this should be about critique and pushing everyone to make the best tracks they can, not a pat on the ass for a lackluster effort.

i've heard more than a few people around here (proudly?) say that they don't use quantization (for whatever ignorant reason that may be). sometimes it works, but you've got to be damn good to pull it off...

uhhhhhhhh...

ok, dude. if you guys want your tracks to sound like you don't know what the hell you're doing, go for it. i don't think i've ever heard any *real* hip-hop tracks that are this sloppy, how about you? it's not 'ghetto', 'lo-fi', 'real', or any of that - it's just amateur crap that sounds like dude just got his first MPC three hours ago and thinks he's qualified to 'make beats' and 'battle' mofo's. it's a bit like trying to read through all the horrible grammar and mis-spellings on this forum. it's not 'keepin' it real', it's just you looking like an un-educated hood rat making a fool of himself. there's alot of knowledgeable cats on this forum that have their sh*t together, most others keep the stereotypes alive and well.

why would you WANT your sh*t to sound like you don't know what you're doing? is that the cool thing to do these days? i don't believe for a minute that this is how you all WANT it to sound, that's just a quick pride-filled cop-out from someone who can't admit that they f**ked up. [on the other hand, i think the gritty ring mod(?) sound of the music in FLUENT's track maybe is what he's going for. there's a nice example of trying something different, and the production overall wasn't too bad. there's never an excuse for sloppy, weak beats though. especially in this game...]

we can keep going over this if you'd like though, i'd like to hear everybody else here tell me i'm wrong for trying to keep the bar raised. want to start a thread in 'Production Techniques' just for it? :D
