Hello Guys!

i'm new here, and totally sorry if these topics have been discussed before (i've searched for them without success).

we have an mpc for a week now, and have some problems:

first: in step edit, if you have a track with a bunch of notes played in, how the hell do you modify the time position of a note? if i go on the time field and tweak the data wheel it jumps to the next one, and so on. i cant modify it. is it POSSIBLE to do that? the manual says nothing about it.

second: say, i have a keyboard attached to the mpc midi in, and i want to trigger a sound module with it. i want to have the setup this way, so i can record what i play. the problem is, that as i see, you always have 1 active midi channel, and the MPC responds to the played notes as well. so my mate is doing beats, and i wanna play a sound module, i will trigger not just the module but the samples in the mpc too. we couldn't get over this.

can somebody help me?

thx in advance!!!

1. I was confused about this as wel, but what you do is go to the event u want to change then PRESS the LEFT CURSOR which will take you to the Time at the top, now u can change the time to what ever u want once u have done that then press Over Dub Rec and the pad of the sample u want.

2. If you just want the midi sounds, all you have to do is turn the PROGRAM to OFF in the track. EG, Type:MIDI Pgm:OFF MIDI: 1A
This will solve that problem. its real simple when you see it ya self.

1: penfold, maaan, THANK YOU!!!
i couldn't have figured that out EVER!

the second one: yeah, thats ok if i want only the module. but what if my mate wants to make beats at the same time? so i want the MPC to JUST THRU my midi! so he is using the mpc at that moment, and i want to trigger the module (just play, not record it or anything). is there a solution for this?

i think i understand what you are trying to say. you are only going to hear whatever track is selected in the main screen. so if track 1 (For example) is a midi track to your module, you are only going to hear the modules sound, whether you hit your controller or your friend is hitting the pads on the mpc. if your friend switches the track to track 2, which is a program of samples on the mpc, you hitting your controller or whatever is just going to trigger the same samples that your friend would hear if he hit the pads on the mpc.

i think that is what you are asking. if not clarify and i'm sure someone else can explain it better to you.
