chopping drums

chopping drums

When you sample drums and go to chop them, do you normally filter out the highhat? Or do you need to choose a sample that doesn't have a highhat being played on every beat?

you can if you want to create more complex beats or kits ,but know
if your just chopping to just get a different feel. T"

Im lazy I just sample a kick with out a high hat

every sample has its place. kicks with hats on em can sound good.

Do whatever you feel sounds good. No need to ask this question when you can do this on your own, it doesn't involve money, or getting extra gear, just do it and see what's really good for you.
