Sup, are there any benefits using fsk??? I understand it will record the tempo data, but is there any reason I should sync with my tape recorder. I understand why syncing digitally is benefitial so you can cut and paste but for tape... :? I'm obviously missing the point of this, can somebody please clue me in.

use smpte if you need to sync to tape.

considering you need to use up a track for the smpte signal, yes it is unreasonable.

You will get seven tho. Use your 60 to generate smpte and record this onto one track, usually track 4, then take track 4's output (not mixed with the audio, there should be a provision for sync on one track and patch it into the other 4 track's smpte in, as well as the 60's smpte in if you want the 60 slaved as well. That will give you 7 tracks.

Okay so the sync uses a track, I was wondering about that. Thanks for the info. 7 is better than 4 but I think Ima just look to upgrade to a 8 track sometime soon and sell off my 4s.
