set the timing to 1/16(3) for a mormal swing, 1/32(3) for a harder swing... this doesnt change the quantization after a pattern has already been recorded tho

Ussually the snare falls every 2 beats, so 1/16 is standard. Now if you wanna make beats like the pro's. Turn the swing off and create your swing naturally. Ussually I only set the timing for hi-hats or when I wanna use "note repeat". To Swing is to Shuffle. So I advise you apply swing after you create ur sequence, but you must listen carefully. Normally you should alter the swing to about 60 - 70%. There is no alternative to a tight sequence with the right amount of "swing". I'm assuming you make hip hop beats, if not then Keep in mind that using "swing" is not a must.
