Do you think?

Ok... just needed some opinions here. I love my 1k and its portablity. However i have found that it would be much easier if it had the features discussed many times in the so called "new os update." The 1k would be a god with these features... and dont u think Akai would sell millions? Well anyway my basic question is... Should i stick around and hope for an update or trade it in for the 2000xl??

at this point i hope the os update NEVER COMES because i'm so sick of hearing about it.

2 words trade it. Be prepared for ppl to unload on this thread. Me personally I don't feel like typing that much.

since AKAI never promised any such features better u either use a pc or buy a 2000XL.

keep the 1k. i'm not sayin that the update is on its way or anything but in my opinion the 2kxl is a joke compared to the 1k. more mem, on board effects, 24pgms @ a time vs. 4, portability, ..... use the extract feature, bluebox, and audacity or the like and then you won't be as dependant on those features in case one day you don't have access to them. but thats just my opinion, not tryin to start a war with the 2kxl lovers or anything, just my opinion.

I don't believe anyone here can tell you what you should do. this is the 1000 forum so you are going to either get people telling you to keep the 1000 and you might get people telling you to get the 2kxl just to shut you up. that choice is completely up to you.

in my experience with both, by the time i chop, slice and zone on the 2kxl, i could have already done it on the pc and transfer it over to the 1k. if i'm not that much of in a rush i can chop, extract, and assign to a pad the samples on the 1k, the 2k(xl) is of no use to me. as far as the outs with the 2kxl 10 vs. 6 on the 1k, i can live without the extra 4 outs.

so again, the choice is up to you, you know, to each it's own. there are some cons with the 2kxl and many pros with the 1k and some may think vice versa.
