Sometimes diggin just don't feel right

If my memory serves me correctly, what does Puffy do? I read an article from xxl last year, and it talked about the production of ready to die... Dope article, threw out the mag awhile ago, it was the one with big on the cover..

In my opinion Puff is a glorified A&R, he knew what sounded right, and
what direction to take the album, give him a mpc 60 and I bet his shit would sound like a retarded kid hitting pots and pans, he just slaps his name on others creativity... Then throws "white partys" with the loot..

Ready to die was a dope album, but look at the real music makers of that album, not the ass a&r/ "producer" shooting off orders like a mini hitler.. Look at bad boy now, pitiful...

Now, I'm not sure about the whole album, don't have it in front of me. But he did make the track Juicy, or at least my 12" print gives him credit as producer of Juicy. Don't really know if that means he made the beat or not, but if he did, great, if didn't it's the same. Naw, man he's as wack as they come today, I feel you. I personally could live fine without puff. Your right badboy ain't shit today, it's funny like that sometimes.

I believe Pete Rock did the "Unbelieveable" remix but i am not sure. Hehe that would be funny as hell if he did, it would figure in about right.

I read it in a PR interview, he had just done the beat and puffy came over, he heard the beat and saw the record on the turntable and just remade the beat.

Tribe did a similar thing to him on Low end theory according to him.

Actually, Lo Pass Filter paid Pete Rock to go and do a reshoot with the SP-1200. Well done Lo Pass Filter, you really recreated the same vibe as the ad. Good thing pete rock was wearing the same clothes!

^Exactly. What you didn't see in the Akai photo shoot was, their was Akai Japan reps. off to the side of the camera lens, holding AK-47's at Pete. They threatened his life for the endorsement, he had no choice.

So when we did the re-shoot, Pete kept it gully.. same TJ Maxx jeans and Hot dog on a stick shirt.

the difference is ghost was ill with it , he was being a rebel and expressing his love for the delfonics also, it didn't even matter that freestyle fellowship had looped the same into from "la la mean i love you" on "to whom it may concern" because he was ill with it there's an attitude to the way he just rants over the entire track, even the vocals it's authentic because you know he grew up to that music and he couldn't help himself

wheras "i'll be missing you" went even farther than that because they jacked the bass line which was the most obvious part of the song to begin with and they jacked the chorus almost word for word and certainly note for note while it was not any emotional or political statement especially for a track in eulogy of a young genius and Hip-Hop legend you'd think the message could be more authentic. they really though they was slick with it but based on public reaction they most def. were not even non-producers caught wind and a million top 40 listeners in their thirties got heated
