I use the Sandisk 1.0 GB CF card. It works GREAT!!!! I also use a PNY 256 MB CF card. Perfect.

I'm just curious as to what a good CF Card Reader is for my comp that will support all of the MPCs supported cards.

Now I do not have a MPC myself yet, but I suggest that the easyest would be to use the MPC itself as a reader, and plug it to your computer with an usb cable.... Am I right or wrong?

It would be more cost efficient, but it seems quicker to have an external reader. If I remember corectly, when using the internal reader, you have to switch to the USB mode in the MPC and also remove the cable after you're done and switch the mode off. I've had a multicard reader long before I bought the MPC. Since I upgraded my computer, I now have USB-2 support. The PNY reader I have isn't USB-2, so it's a bit slower (due to the bottle-necking), yet still quicker than switching modes using the MPC reader.

Any CF reader will do, preferably a USB 2.0 one. though as mentioned there wil be some bottle necks as well. so not sure iof 2.0 or 1.1 will make a difference.

You can buy any type of 256MB PC133 chip as far as I can tell. I got some cheap one for like $40 and it's worked like a charm. Once you upgrade you will able to do so much more with your 1K. Peace

Can i use 128MB PC133 NON ECC CL3-144PIN SODIMM RAM to upgrade my MPC to 64mb's of memory? will this be possible? cuz i got a stick of 128mb right now, and i'm thinking of buying the 1k..

that's what i did on my mpc and it works well
(for info the brand i got is Nanya and it says on the sticker: pc133s-333-542).

All I know is I bought the cheapest ish I could find...the truth is the MPC isn't going to perform any different if it's Kingston or not. Just 133MHZ, 256MB. Take a look at the picture Penfold posted on the first post. You can get the stuff for nothing. Peace.
