1000 or 2000xl in communication with Adobe Audition

Exactly as the 'subject' says, does anyone know about the compatability between either the MPC 1000 or 2000XL with Adobe's Audition software or how they can communicate with eachother.

Also, in the 2000XL manual, there is a configuration picture for connecting MIDI keyboard, CD-ROM player, and MIDI sound modules, but not for hooking it up to your digital audio station.

I'm working with the rack M-Audio Delta 1010 which has 8 x 8 analog I/O on balanced/unbalanced 1/4” TRS, S/PDIF digital I/O (coaxial) with 2-channel PCM, digital I/O supports surround-encoded AC-3 and DTS pass-through, and MIDI I/O.

That's all connected to my desktop which is running Adobe Audition and Image Line FL Studio 5.

I also have a cheap Yamaha mixer similar to the Yamaha MG12/4 12-Input 4 Bus Mixer but older.

My best guess as of now is that once I have my song compiled within the MPC (the samples and drum sequences all in order) I can set the MPC to record into Adobe Audition straight-thru the front MIDI ins and outs on the M-Audio Delta. Am I right?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

midi doesn't carry audio signals.

Check miy first sig link and look through the pages, I have adobe audition/Cool edit pro midi sync to MPC settings in there.

Midi doesn't carry any audio but I would have the outs on the MPC hooked up into either the mixer or straight into the Delta 1010, correct?

I've decided that a necessary update to Cakewalk's SONAR4 is a better choice. Now I'm checking through your links to find compatability information concerning Sonar. Is it there?

Okay, I've got another quick question here:

My new setup is as follows:

M-Audio Delta 1010 PCI Digital Audio System
Cakewalk SONAR4 Studio Edition
M-Audio Studiophile BX5 Powered Studio Monitors
Same old Yamaha Mixer, etc....

Would it make more sense with this setup to be using the 2000xl or the 1000. I have read for the past 2 months about both systems, and everytime I decide to go with the 1000, I have to look back and think about the 2000xl. Especially with the great breakout box on the 1010, I'm just thinking I'll have more fun with the 2000xl.

To me(and please don't post any hate, this is just my opinion) the major difference with the decision of getting the 2000xl vs the 1000 is this. Are you more of a computer savvy person? If yes, then a 1000. If not, then a 2000xl. Both will have a learning curve and one is made to work in conjunction with computers more. That is what I have found to be the major deciding factor in the debate.

Your 1000% right. That's what I've noticed also.

Hardware heads will go for the 2k/2kxl mostly.
PC/MAC heads usually go for the 1k.

Either way, the producer wins cause any (working) mpc is a good mpc.

Alright - finally I've been able to make up my mind - which is still going both ways. I've decided to go with the 1K because it will be a great addition to the setup I have currently, but I've got plans on adding the 2000XL if I feel I need more MPC in the future. Thanks for the help once again!
