Akais are too damn hard...

In your opinion what is the most easiest 1 to use. 1000,2000XL,or 4000.

probably 1000 cause it has the least features. its what YOU do with it anyway.

Honestly, Akais smplrz are the EASIEST to mess with IMO.
It's all bout the MUSICIAN behind the machine, and TIME you're involving in this thing! Time is the key...and compared to others brand, akai make it real simple, trust me ruddy... real simple!

yea man kilowax is definatly right. But its weird cause i found when i first got my 2000xl it was the hardest machine to use, but after bout a week everything starts to click and it just becomes second nature. Its starts off the hardest and turns into the easiest. PIMP PIMP

I think they 1000 and 2000 have similiar learning curves.. where the 4000 has so mnay features and extras, it is going to be more difficult to use to it's capacity. but I belive the 1000 and 2000 are very similiar in ease to use.. And there are always new things to learn about both.. I am always learning new things about the 2000xl and i have had it for 4 years...

AFA strickly drum/sampling/sequencing, i feel the 2K/XL more like the classic 60/3K with more features, those models were made as "sampling drum machines" very similar IMO...
4000 is an other story, Akai finally produced a synth/workstation in a MPC box!
I've tried the 1000 @ my man crib, just to compare how the workflow's...
No offence deh, but @ first it was a lil' weird... but NO>>> MPC1000 is for the purpose of "Laptoper's" , so you might have a wave editor on your laptop, cuz you might be a laptoper (sounds commercial no?)!!

IMO the mpc1000 is like half way between the XL and the 4000, but it wouldn't do it for me at all, i can flip from XL to 4K daily, but I just don't feel the 1000.

IMO the 1k is the easiest of you are used to working in a computer environment

if youre used to old school samplers and all that, the 2k and 1k are probably the same in terms of learning curve. the 1k is sorta smarter cuz it is new and conforms to modern conventions. and it has less unnecessary steps to getting things done than the older mpc's. like having to choose which drum slot you want to edit before you can dig in on the XL.

it took me about 2 weeks to know the 1k 100%. it was the first mpc i used and it was sooooooo easy to pick up. the xl took me about 2 weeks to learn how to use.

it was weird cuz while i prefer the XL (at the moment anyway) in a lot of ways it is kinda retarded compared to the 1k, at least on features they share. like the drum1, drum2, drum3, drum4 thing on the XL. at first i was like wtf is this about? why cant i just use whatever program on a track like on the 1k?!?!?!? also, another bad one is the XL's inability to just save an entire project in one sweep like how you can on the 1k

and no offense but if you think an mpc is too hard youre gonna have a hard time learning just about anything but a dopey computer program. these things are really really user friendly

The reason why i choose mpc is tht i don't want to be dependent of a computer, computer's screen do bad to my eyes!(again no offence, to any model user here )...
Even MPCEditor I haven't (good software anyway)!! Not tht i don't use computer, I have Pro-Tools as recorder, but not to create my music at all.

I like the stand alone thing, reason why XL & 4K are in the crib!
With the 1000 you have to learn 3 things: the MPC, the softwares you need and some computer tricks... where others just plug mp and rock!

Or it will turn in a kind of MPC's model war... There are diff mp models out deh, i think they cover diff need and taste...

I would have to say I think the MPC's are very easy to understand. Each one I've used was pretty easy to get around. The only machine I can think would be easier to learn, is the Emu SP 1200.
