I'm not a fan of Prefuse 73 particulary but I do admire his lovely glitching. Now, I often hear him referred to in relation to the MPC. My (slightly annoying) question is - can Prefuse 73-esque music be made through the MPC? Surely this would take a mad amount of step editing? Just curious.

Yeah you can make pretty much anything with a 1k, you've just got to put some time in. There is no magic button that will make a track for you.

Yes man. I've seen pics of his apartment in an interview. HE rocks a 4k, and a drum set. He even talked about it in interviews. peep this

Just got home from the prefuse 73 show. I scrapped up 12 bucks so I could go....best damn 12 bucks I spent in awhile too. Beans from Anti-pop consortium put on a decent how.

Prefuse 73 put on a GREAT show. He had a live drummer and DJ. Scott the brains/body behind prefuse 73 was working a load of equipment including.. a g4 powerbook, MPC 4000, a vintage analouge keyboard, and 2 or 3 other consoles I don't have a clue to what they were.

This quote is from a forum about a kid talkin aboout him using the 4k in a show

I couldn't find the picture and interview of him in his apartment talking about how much he likes the 4k. He said something along the lines how he likes it because its an all in one box, and how he loves being able to hook his turntable straight into the mpc.

whatever no big deal i know what i saw and read. Plus that XL8r came out before the interview I read. So that would explain why he was using the 2000. I'm not a fan i have only heard one cd,a dn it was aigggggght.

oh no doubt he uses the 1k for live purposes. but i did read an interview about him using the 4k with his G4 powerbook, and how much he likes the 4k. It even had a pic of the 4k in his apartment, next to a drumset.

he is fresh, hes an atlanta native, and would always be passing out flyers with every cup of coffee that he sold at this liitle local coffe spot in l5p called aurora. he does put on a dope show. a few years ago there would be 15-20 at one of his shows and his equipment was so limited at the time which just go to show that its how you create but not what you create with. now the bastard lives in spain. keep the fame, give me spain and the women and ill be content...........and of course my equipment.
