As some of you may know I've just got an MPC 60 Mk2. However I maybe getting a job working away from home in the week and returning on week ends. I'm just trying to think of all eventualities here...
I don't fancy transporting the 60 week in week out as I think its too old and could get damaged. I have the chance to buy a cheap MPC4K with full RAM and big HDD or MPC3000 LE which sounds like its in good nick and hardly used, haven't found out if its got 16 32 Meg RAM yet. The 3K or 4K would be what I'd use in the week and would probably be a bit more robust than the 60 and would be OK travelling with. I also still have a 2KXL which I didn't really get on with.
Is it being too ostenatioius just to get another MPC to use so I don't damage my 60? I'm leaning towards the 3000 but its quite alot more than than the 4K which is quite a good price. I suppose the obvious advantage with the 3K is its essentially the same OS as the 60 so I won't have to learn some new gear, and the 4K is quite complex and might not have backward compatibility with the 60 i.e. I can make tracks on the 4K but not transfer them to the 60?
I dunno give us some opinions gents
