Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

We have an mpc 2000 first generation. Since we only use macintosh we are having problems transfering files from mac to mpc 2000 and vice versa. We have a scsi driven zip drive but the trouble seems to be that mac connot read akai format and akai won't read a mac formatted zip. The scsi drive is not compatible with most pc's even if we would have one. We could transfer our files via pc to a floppy, but this means we can only carry 1.4 Mb. This is quite frustrating to say the least. Can anyone help us out?
Thanks a lot

The MPC and the MAC will both read a PC disc. My suggestion would be to buy some PC formated ZIP discs and use them to transfer the files. The disc should work without formating. If you need to format the disc, do it on a friends PC or something. Don't format the disc on either the MPC or the Mac as that will lead to the problems you have described.

Once you have this working make sure to back up your files, ZIPs are a b!tch.

I have a Mac using OSX and I have had problems with Mac formated zips. No problems hardly ever with PC formated disks. Although I have used the MPC2000 (nonxl) to format zips and they have performed quite well. Just trial and error worked I had no knowledge of this site earlier on and no one ever told me which zips worked best and which ones did not. I found out on my own I am sure you all will be able to find out by tring both pc and mac for mated zips. Good luck!

Do a search on these MPC-Tutor fourms with my name about Zips.
There are some touchie things to know when dealing with them and any computer.

Peace.
