Are the Roland MV-8000's taking over Akai MPC's?

Is it me or is everyone starting to us MV-8000's over Akai MPC's? Producers are saying its way easy to use.
What are your thoughts as MPC users?

I dont realy like the mv8000. I mean its cute and all. But nuthing compares to an MPC

I'm gonna try one out this winter.

It has a lot of great features, but at the end of the day it all comes down to you. What ever you like, what ever you feel, it's all up to you.

the mv could have really been something special if they had put more effort into the hardware. I mean a 4 track hard disk recorder... why not 16 or at least 8? only a max of 8 analoge outputs when they could have had 16 again the damn screen is just **** up and screew a vga out put. the reason it was a good idea on the mpc3k was that flat screen technology was no where near what it is today so it made sence. The stock MPC4k screen is far more readable then the MV8. Only 1 midi IN and 2 midi Outs...... are you kidding me? The software is nothing special or something that wasnt done on a computer 5 years ago. People buy hardware for hardware features. But Roland is known for giving people just enough to say "I got something" but never enough to have people saying "I got it all' and they could so easily do so.

ok well correct that but it still only has 2 anolog in puts the could have bump that out to 8 or at least 4...
im not saying it a peice of crap but there should be no comparing the MV to any MPC it should have blown them all out of the water

The only thing that the mv-8000 is gonna take over is pawn shops when people realize that they should have stuck with the MPC.. JMO

played around with one today...not to keen. If I'd never tried an mpc I'd probably think it was better

i was in love with it for a lil.but then i tried the mpc again after i read the manual and i honeslty think the mpc is way better than the mv.just my 2 cents.

I think they were... with additional RBus expander, one has a total of 2 Midi In's and 3 Midi Out's, so just missing 1 Midi out that the MPC 4000 has...

the man who sold me my mpc 5+ years ago just bought one.


He still has an mpc60 though, and a sp, but he like the roland now


I think he got a 1k also
