What do you do with your samples?

I was trying to get some ideas of what people do when they say "flipping" a sample or chopping it or looping it...what are these differences? Also it might be interesting to have some people show an original sample they've used and then have the beat they made with that sample...just a thought.

Examples of what are "looking" for can be found and heard in the beat battles, you can hear how diff samples are tweaked and used.

in my opinion "flipping" can mean many things but I think that refers to an already chopped sample, that u then proceed to use a certain way, anyhow... obviously sampling starts off with hearin a certain track and hearing parts in it that you feel are hot and usable, so then u chop those pieces out, either u can loop what u chopped, if u chopped it right, or slice it, which is basically dividing a loop into sections based on notes in the melody then u can rearrange how things play in the loop, err kind hard for me to explain but I hope u understand what I'm tryna say.

That's a lil insight into sampling I guess, I think it's best if you personally experiment and discover things.

I think alot of doods here and in general over do it when they first get their mpcs trying to sound like so and so. I know i did.

So now, two years later, in my opinion flipping a sample would be taking 2 to 4 bars of something. Finding another two to four bars for bridges or breaks, and then taking little snippets from the same song, like a bare horn or vocal part and sprinkling your beat with these other parts. When you try to hard to chop, it just sounds like garbage.
