MPC 3k Forat Mods

I'm Definitely Problably gonna get that 6+db output mod some time in 2006,but I'm Thinking about the Internal Zip drive? Any suggestions?

suggestion:

keep internal floppy and use a SCSI external zip... its always good to have 2 DIFFERENT ways to save/load...

I would get the internal zip.

when was the last time you used a floppy for the mpc3000?


better yet, have him put a scsi card reader in it.

floppys still good for 60 but too limited for 3k imo. id like to have it done but 300 + shipping...

Forat mod my MPC 3000 with the internal Zip...mos def get it!! I havent missed having a floppy at all...not even thinking about floppy disk any more..Now just wish they could through one in the SP1200

Good truth !!!

Keeping your floppy disk drive present allows you to boot an operating system upgrade in the case that your machine is not fitted with a new operating system build.

See? no one cares as long as they thing their machine's been pimped. Zips fail, good to have alternatives in case scsi goes bad, and I can't be;lieve everyone hasn't put 3.14 on a floppy permanentlt in their 3k.

Maybe a 60 update one day ... maybe. ( I'll have to get one and pull it apart first ).

As for the "free on floppy/paid on rom" release that I put out of the 3000 OS.

Apart from perhaps, one more update, development of the "free on floppy/paid on rom" will change.

The "free on floppy" version development will be left in the dust.

Those who have purchased the "paid on rom" version know this already

The ROM has been running at version 3.16 whilst the floppy version has been running at version 3.14.

Next post will be the release notice of the 3.16 version as a floppy boot.
