Someone here uses an SP 303 don't they? SP 404 now released!

I think the 606 has 4 too! which is a bit shite to be fair....

True, but it's upgraded, so I guess that makes it better than the 303. Personally, I think the 303 is good for DJ's that want to use little sound bites and effects at their gigs. If your going to use the 303 for making beats, I reccomend that you use it with a computer.

if you hook it up to the computer the 606 has 16 tracks on the computer.

Dude no offence, but you're the one who always asks for recommendations from people here, now you're recommending something that makes little sense? Madlib (you know, THE Beat Conductor??) made whole albums with the 303 and a 4 track, and he doesn't use computers at all, so please don't chime in like you know all about something when we know you're still learning, it just comes off wrong.

yeah 12 pads is kinda weak. I too prefer 8 or 16.

AFAIK the 303 has a single track sequencer.
It seems to me that the 404 is just the 303 with a new paintjob 4 extra pads and more storage space + of course the fact that they got rid of the smartmedia storage in favour of the cf card which is a good decision IMO.

roland finally gave up on the 4 track phrase sequencer!


they have been pushing that sequencer since the days of the dj70.

I hated it. I hade to use an alesis mmt 8 to sequece my dj70.

It was the reason, I got rid of my 303.
