"I'd rather have it than NOT have it"
Me too...

Hey Lampdog, let me know if you still looking out for those Motif's sounds?
Maybe we could trade some patches. Hit me on PM, if you want.

everyone here is right in what they say. the effects aren't the best in the world but you can freak them and get them sounding decent. you just have to experiment.

The Ones who said the EB16 Boards Sux, aint doing it right... Only The Filter option alone can Get your Kickdrum real phat, The Reverbs are Great when you know what u doing.

I like to Make A track, and put effect on it immediately, to hear what i'm doing and how it will sound. To put Reverbs or Echo's on your instruments without the EB16 card you have to buy the 8-outputs card to put effects
on each seperat track, otherwise the effects will affect the whole track.

if you try to use it like reeeevverrrrrrbbbbbb yeah it sucks

BUT, shorten the decay to zero, set the diffusion around 60, early ref between 30-50 and mix it in real quiet on high hats, also snares, rides, etc.... makes a drum fit into a mix AND gets it sounding real silky too. basically, use it as an ambience patch instead of mega huge church reverb (which is friggin corny anyway) and it is really really useful

so basically, NO the reverb does not suck if you use it the right way

yeah you are right, in moderation i use it on some percussion. but besides that ima try and mess with those settings, thanx tiger

the fx could have been geared to hiphop a bit more. say some better eq, filters and compressors. i make techno and drum and bass, and the eb16 has the goods for those styles. you can use the 4 band eq;s lfo's to give any bass sounds that wobbly lfo.

hey no problem, hope you get some stuff you like out of it!

and the pitch shift delay is really crazy but ive never once found a use for it in a song. but what a totally bizarre effect that is! (the one where the pith changes with each feedback repeat)

anyone ever use that one in a track??

btw, the distortion is really nice too. it's so much better than the bit grunger on the mpc1000... cuz on the 1k you cant control the level after the distortion. so everything you use the grunger with is gonna be really loud. it's so dumb

yo i totally forgot about the lfo's on the eq

my bassdrum and basslines always get the low end filter treatment, plus a nice distortion on it. And i always lower the frequency (in program - parameters, not on the fx card) also.

I am seriously considering buying the EB16 after reading this
thanks
I think you all have a good point
about its how you tweak it
i have the 8 outs and been putting
effects on my beats by sending the channels to
a 16 track and having my line 6 echo and chaos pad
sent to the aux sends
and doing it old style
like king tubby dub style

However
i would love the comfort of just having
efx in the mpc and having it all self contained
for certant tracks

About the mad lib video
i have a sp202 and i dont see it possable to make
that thing interesting with out the use of alot of multi tracking
Im sure that is what he does with it
I wonder how many samples and saved kits he has
on flash cards for it ?

The over all video is inspiring tho
and i think its a great point that
it is not what you use
its how you use it
and what you make with it
I think im gonna start using my four track again
after viewing this
I think it woould be a good test to see
how much i can do with a sp202 and my su10
and four track

All that being said
i still continue to buy and long after new add ons
like the EB16
so go figure

I wonder
why it is
that when
empeecee.p
post a question or
a comment all of
his words come out
like this?

Are you a poet
or does your return
key on
the keyboard
just not
work properly?
