My First Dig

I've just gotten into this whole record digging thing and I gotta say, its a pretty fun, especially finding something good in the 99 cent bin. Check out what I got at the record store.

I'm basically a beginner, of digging at least, I'm an experienced listener. I was just going off names I recognized. I'm trying to dig to find 'one shots' mostly.

So to the experienced diggers, are any of these records a good find? I'll be listening to them over the next week to find out for myself, but I know some of you guys are on the lookout for classic albums. Lemme know.

And I listened to George Benson, sounds pretty tight to me. I don't know if I'll find any one shots, but hopefully.

I figure after I'll give these guys a listen, if I like their style, I'll dig some more from them. If they're style is weak, I'll steer clear.

I just dug in the Jazz crates today, next time I'll try Soul or Blues. What style has the best or most one-shots? I know there's probably not an answer for that, but I don't know.

don't forget rock -- tons of drums in there. and dont forget 45s either, tons of drums. george benson has tons of great shit, do not overlook him. stay the **** away from herb albert's booty. crusaders are allright too. Soul is gonna be tough cuz its been so picked over, but theres tons of great music to listen to.
a piece of advice -- start picking up shit you dont know, now. good luck. remember, the less times you see something in the field, the better it is.

I say take out that Jane's Addiction and drop the needle on it.
Not because there's stuff to sample, but because it's a kick ass rock record.
If you don't want it, I'll take it. I'd love to have "Nothing's Shocking" on vinyl.

try and check for covers of stuff you have never seen.
Mostly some crazy ass cover that makes ya think "WTF" is the best way to go. Experience and spidey sence comes with the time.
I've been on the product for a while and just recently got into a strange spidey like timerange... damn I better hit up the store tomorrow... just to make sure its not gone again

P.S.: Itchy, you got some good Japanese wax for me? I just got a batch and I need mooore...
