Hey, I kinda want to stay away from computers right now so I was wondering if those Boss 303s can like eq drums. Like lets say i sample a drum hit off of vinyl, will I be able to tweak it into the sound i need?

Cause right now I have a turntable but nothing to make beats with and I think the mpc 1000 is outta my price range for the moment so I was thinking about getting a 303 and sampling vinyl and just going Madlib on that stuff.

Thanks guys, Shootah

man, the 404 has copact flash cards! you could save it as a wav and pop the cf card in the mpc

I don't know about you guys, but I have the 303 and the 1000...and personally I'd rather sample a loop on the 303. This 404 has CompactFlash which means now I'll be able to sample loops the way I prefer, then pull the card out of the 404, throw it in the 1000, and sequence and use drum sounds that I prefer the MPC for. They both work together nicely. Plus, if the 404 is battery powered, take your HandyTrax and the 404 with you, sample in some drum loops and dope samples and get some rough concepts, then when you get back from your vacation/trip/work, throw the looped sample over to the mpc, freak your own drums, add a bassline, etc. I just hope the 404 is fairly inexpensive so I can get one as soon as it comes out.

Question on my previous post...will the formats be the same so you can load the samples from one machine to another...i know it uses the standard .wav sounds but i was reading the specs for the 606 and it said it saves the sounds in a pad bank format...so i guess my question is Can you rotate a CompactFlash card with samples between the sp-404, the sp-606, and the mpc 1000? Also, how do you load the samples individually into the 404 and 606...i dont see a load feature? thanks.

Yeah, what's up with the no Midi Out? MPC competitor? Hardly.
