MPC 2000 blues a.k.a. sequences and programs into wavs.

Hello guys,

I can save my sounds to wavs - no sweat.

Is there any way you can save your programs, midi files and sequences to wavs as well? I have looked at my MPC 2000 manual but for the life of me I can't see it. A fellow beatmaker wants to remix one of my beat and I have given him a zip disk to get busy with but all he is getting is the tracks and sounds but no program or sequences.

Any help would be much appreciated.

you did it on the 2000? and your fellow work with a 2000 to?

You must SAVE the ALL and APS files for him to pull up your sequences, IF he is using an MPC too...

That will cover EVERYTHING you mentioned you are trying to save.

I don't understand "to WAVS", if you want to send him just WAV files for each track then you will need to track them individually into some type of RECORDER (i.e. PC or MTRK) but either way will work, the question you asked is kind of vague.

Thanks for the replies guys. I make beats via MPC 2000 and with my zip drive, I'm straight. The beatmaker who wants to do a remix is coming from the PC route. Reason / Forge / Cubase, etc.

When I save my samples I save it as sounds normally but PCs want wavs which I'm able to do but not sequences and programs as wavs.

From what I see, the 2000 doesn't give me the option of saving them in wavs, only samples I'm allowed to save in that way. I want him to be able to put a beat on my arrangement without the beat I did originally which he cannot as he only has the samples in wav form but not the program and sequences.

record each track one by one to your computer and give him that. it's easier with the 8 outs card cuz you can probably multitrack all of it at once

I don't have that option I'm afraid. I don't have a PC only my 2000 and a Z. Drive so I save what I have on a Z. Disk and give it to him to take home to his PC.

Here you can download OS v 1.72.
This is the OS that introduced "save as WAV".
You can also download the 2k classic manual from the same page.
I have the details on what 1.72 added to the 2k.

What you are asking cannot be done on an MPC2000 - it isn't a hard disk recorder which will let you take your MIDI sequences and turn them into a single stereo WAV file. You need to hook up your MPC outputs to a computer or a multi track hard disk recorder, record your beat as individual audio tracks, and then convert the tracks to WAV from there. Then you can hand this over to your friend. But you cannot convert an ALL and APS into a WAV file internally - only individual samples can be saved as WAV.

I had a feeling that would be the long and short of it, MPC Tutor. I'll just have to trek to my fellow beatmaker's house and hook it up as u suggest.
