its in pretty mind condition, it works how it should, but there is only one big scratch on it, on the left side of the machine :( .

oooh, and there is no Mpc on the pic (not anymore) , because i sold it for the SP 1,5 years ago

Hi,

oldschooler, i saw the scratch, not such a big deal, your SP is in REAL MINT condition, even the white knobs looks NEW, are they?
How do you record your beats?

By oldschooler Fri Jul 22, 2005 10:36 am
Hey,
The white knobs are still the original ones.
When i purchased it I cleaned whole the machine and every button on it.
Lots of dust came of it etc.

I don't have anything to record with yet, i'm looking for a program to record with or some kind of tape recorder or anything. Any suggestions on some good recording programs?

- you got some nice stuff there btw. :D . how long are you already into making beats?

what program is that u was using

Hi,
oldschooler, I will suggest: 1) a good tape recorder like TAEC 80.8, or Tascam TSR serie, 8 tracks, sync via MIDI...
2) Digital recorder, 8/16 tracks or higher if can afford it. The Roland VS serie are good enuf, also Akai DSP serie but i don't really know bout them.
3) AFA software, i don't know if you're using PC or Mac, but there so much of dem, tht you better do a search and see what will cover your needs...

Me, i use Pro-Tools for editing & "mixing" backup my sessions, bring dem to studio for mixing & mastering... i rarely use P-T as main recorder, i can record on other recorders have got and then backup to P-T...

"you got some nice stuff there btw." got mo' but i don't want to strir up! call dem "secret weapons" 8)

"how long are you already into making beats?"
I see myself half a musician half a producer, not at all as a beat-maker, feel me? I've started playing double-bass/electric bass by the age of 15. I went to music school during 7 years, i use to do session as bassist at 21, and i really came to "production" in '94/95 I was 25, i'm 35 now... so it's been 20 years!!!
Long process indeed!

You a real positive cat too, refreshing around here.

but how do you sync a tascam tsr with midi?? I thought smpte was the only option.

By Kilowax Fri Jul 22, 2005 7:21 pm
sorry, TSR is smart sync... at first i was talking bout the TAEC80.8, tht i use with MIDI... wrong lump my bad!
