MPC 60 & MPC 60II Operating System MOD?

you forgot me...

the wanna be bboy that is sitting in the corner remembering that every year or so someone brings something like this up about one of the MPCs and it gets nowhere... it usually doesnt cause this much dismay when the topic comes up, though...

3.10e is good enough, i would say perfect but, i dont want anyones panties to get all bunched up... it makes using the 60 fun and easy... speculating about someone creating an updated OS may be easy and fun for some, but, a word to the wise.... IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN!

Yeah thanks man I see what youre saying... To bad I had to find out how whack some people are on here. Honestly I will keep my ideas and comments to myself cos some people just gets all weird on a brotha'. Finaly its called discussion why cant people discuss the possiblities without the drama. No prob though learned my lesson on here. Next time I post something I can get some intelligent feedback, instead of negative noise.

dont be so sensitive... i saw nothing really bad said, just negative aspects of your idea, which to me far outweigh the positive and tangible aspects of the whole subject... dont be offended when someones FACTS and or opinions dont fit your agenda...

with that being said... flowers a new OS, 3.10e is LEET bithc!!!

Bottomline is - nothing is impossible......hell Sony thought that they had developed fool proof technology with the PSP and the UMD yet I've downloaded numerous emulators and thousands of games that can now be played on my Sony PSP. I mean who would've thought that kids figured out how to copy the information from a UMD (universal media disk - which is proprietary software) create a mock version of that info and save it to your memory card which can be stored and traded all over the net. Believe me....if someone wanted to tinker with the OS 3.10e I know who could! Bruce from Forat told me he's got all kinds of devices designed to mess with the OS's in the 60 and various other machines.....so i'm sure there are others.

Lets just all keep an open mind......you guys are settling for OS 3.10 because that is all that is currently available, sure we're greatful, but admit that any kind of firmware updates would be welcomed if they were beneficial to the process of beatmaking.

drumat!c duude thats what I was saying all along! I thought i was the only one seeing this! Like I said there are tons of headz out there tweaking all kinds of stuff. I was wondering what in the world what is wrong with a little discussion about a new OS. It almost seems that you all are getting some kind of kick back for raving about the manufactrer released OS. If so hook me up, HA!

There are guys I know that have been tweaking chips in thier cars to increase performance. A car whose specs and makers proclaim:" This car can only do this and nothing more." these dudes pop out the stuff in thier cars, mod them at home. Afterwards these dudes completely baffel the manufacturer techs and mechanics by increasing the cars performance. My boy got a web browser on his PSP. Sony said it wasnt possible, and they might later release a version of PSP that would allow internet access. YEAH right so they can make money off it! Ya see my boy already got it,its a mod. Not that he discovered it, its all over the internet now. These communities are MAD resourceful and they communicate to a degree where they make the impossible possible.

Ok I'm feelin you guys on this, its got to be possible. If Forat has something cookin it will probably cost a fortune, like $500 for it to be worth it to him. but there has to b a way to make an alternate OS for the 60, but, reverse engineering is not fun, so some suckers gotta put that time in and take one for the team, cuz straying too far from 3.10 would be more work and probably not as good.

But like I said, Let Rohan Borrow your spare 60 with 3.10 OS and lets see what he says. He's the only one that has said he would even consider it, and considering it is a big job in itself. Still a possibility.
