ahhaa I second that. A reader/writer is so useful and practical. It's a lot easier.

I would wish for the shift timing feature. It's really difficult to get a nice sounding swing on the 1k without taking quatizing off and playing free hand. My timing sucks, so I have to rely a lot on quantize. This feature would help me out a lot.

Of course timestretch, zoning, and delay would make this the perfect piece. I have a feeling that Akai will add a lot of great things to the 1k os in time. It may take 5 years or some incredibly long time, but I think they will.

To be able to use the 16 megs that aren't used any more after the mem upgrade to add to the 128 for more loading.
Or a reverse function.
Greetz...

What about using the 2 sliders as faders for the mixer, so you can make group fader movements and ish, that wood be ill.

I'm answering because you asked. i like my 1k the way it is if anything else comes about meaning an update this would just be a bonus.

I'll second that! :D

Keep like it the way it is. no time for the learning curve on a major update.... I love the 1k.....

Zoning, but not automatically - I'd just like to be able to select a section of a sample and assign it to a pad without using extract. I usually end up keeping the big sample in memory in case I screw up the chop.

Capshun - who's that in your avatar?

better midi sync options would be nice and remove some of those stupid ass effects and put in a simple delay with MAYBE some filter options to it.

- I wish they will bring back the fader editing in trim. Why the nonsensical digit hassle? Don't make me touch that ridiculously plastic dial, please. There's two faders - get me one for start point, one for end point. The faders are just way underused now, and should be way more integrated into both general navigating and sequencing..

yes, this would be awesome...it wouldn't be a big step to integrate this feature in the next os. imho it wouldn't take more than one hour to implement it for a programmer....

That would be sweet!

All my files on the MPC to be alphabatized.
It would be a lot more convenient.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned this. The clock on the mpc definitley needs to be tightened up. If any of you out there are sequencing synths, and syncing through midi clock, you know how annoying those false starts can be (arpeggiator/sequence). Also, the fundamental operation of reversing a sample is missing. Why? That's pretty basic. Another basic feature missing from the mpc1000 is the ability to take an event in the list editor and change its position. The way you have to do things now is to insert a new event and delete the old one. If you are trying to work out your timing via trial and error through the event llist editor you can pretty much forget it. It doesn't seem as though these fundamental changes to the OS should take that long to program. I think that the basic operations of programming should be taken care of first before Akai goes on to add some more bells and whistles.
