Anway, I come from a Fruity Loops, Cool Edit Pro background and I was able to adapt in no time to the 60's interface.

But I see what you mean, everyone's got their own preferences. I just happen to hate working with sliders for the reasons I broke down earlier. But to each his own.

Also the SP isn't bad because 1 slider is fine and 1 sliders is coarse so you don't have to use the keypad.

Nah, the slider thing should have been a done deal, even the ASR has a DATA slider, but maybe there's some other reason why they haven't gone there yet on the MPC's
I just think the more different ways you have to interface with a piece of gear the better, people just work too many different ways to really say what someone will prefer.

yea it does sound familiar Ntalec!! I use both hands too, but the number pad gets hit with the dominant hand.

I found that for good chops I had to resort to the number pad despite having a fine slider, it was mostly on an SP-12 tho, so maybe the 1200 is different.

Agreed on many interfaces for each drum machine.

I just don;t get why they didn't adapt the sliders for multi purpose things in the 4000 which is supposed to have everything.
