Sound Purge problem

Ok, here's my problem:

I go to purge all the sounds I'm not using in my current program, and my MPC locks up. Just straight freezes. Here's the exact scenario:

I have a bunch of programs dedicated to drum sounds (i.e. 1 program of just kicks, another of just snares, another of hihats, etc.). So I'll load up the programs and create a kit from various sounds, save them to a new program, and then delete and purge the rest of the sounds I'm not using.

That's when my MPC2K locks up, and I then have to start all over from scratch loading up the sounds I had picked one by one.

Any thoughts?

If you have saved what you needed, why not load that up and avoid the purge?

load the new program you created and select "clear" when you load it. That will erase all the sounds in memory.

yeah, that's what I'm going to do from now on. I only purged cause I was bein' lazy and didn't want to switch back and forth between the program and disk menus...

Is there anyway to purge all the sounds in memory completely without rebooting or loading another program?
