Peace,

As a producer who rocks with the MPC 2000 Classic, I was looking to upgrade to the 2000XL MCD. But lately I was given thought about the MPC 1000. My home boy down in Tampa use to rock with the 2K and now has a 1000 and says he loves it and I should look into one.

Well I had rolled to the music store to check out the 1000. My main reason for peepin the 1000 is because I work my computer alot, got that M Audio Pro Tools, Sound Forge 7, M Audio Delta 1010, etc... And I would not mind having a smaller machine to roll with in a nice laptop case to travel back and forth with, it's more easy. When I got playing with the 1000 I felt a little down at the fact that it had no Shift key buttons to get into the mixer? I take it the 1000 has not Mixer menu like the 2000?? And only 4 mix outs threw me off compared to having 8 on my 2000. I was really impressed with the size of the 1000 and the USB support to transfer files. But I was not feeling the lost of a mixer menu and 4 outs..

Any ex 2000 heads can you share you experience, because if I don't make the move on the 1000 then I'l gonna holla at the XL.

Also on the 1000 do you save your data on that flash card??? Thanx in advance yall!

what the fucl< are you talkin about? you must not rock the 2000 to hard. if you really rolled into a store and got to playing the 1000 then you must be retarded. there is a shift key, mixer function, and compact flash right in front of your face. i can't believe that you went to a store to check it out and still have these ?s but i also don't understand why you would go out of your way to say you did. you should sell the 2000 and forget about the 1000. maybe you should get the sp-404.

hahha pad your funny!!!

just for the rec, 1000 has 6 outs as standard, effects and eq as standard, which the stock 2000 does not. file transfer and storage is far more superior than to Zip or floppy. to be honest you only loose out on lazy features like zoning and timestretch and reverse, but the 10-00 is aimed at PC heads so this can be done on PC software so its ok.

Ya know, usually I would just ignore egg head comments from some stupid internet white boy such as your self. Look duke, respect mine and don't run that gay nonsense in my cypha. I've been rocking the 2000 for 5 years herb. And what I mean by shift key is the Shift digits such as the 2000 series with SHIFT+1 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, for ya mentally retarded self. Non counting I don't know my abcs *****. The 1000 aint got that, and so I was wondering how the hell could you access the mixer menu like you do with the 2000 by hitting Shift+7. ***** you stupid? Steve hawkins weel chair moron. The 1000 got one shift key but no numeric shifts like the 2000. And there is no mixer menu right on the 1000 front face, just like you have to scroll through machine to get to the params. So my question was, where was the mixer menu at on that hoe? And another thing for you I need hook on phonex to read, I know the 1000 gots a flash card. I was asking do you save your data on that joint? Do me a favor and don't holla back if you can't read a sentence correctly. I'm sure your making moves in the grimy hood of Chapel Hill NC. Ha ha, sounds like a church town, Chapel Hill morons on the MPC 1000. Go ring some church bells suspect.

****** on here think they funny, I'm not a net kat. Try that crap in my face dawg and you'll get earth, wind, and fire smacked out ya whole grill and then get robbed for your 1000. Some retards on here, for real.

Penfold thanx for that little imput, I was already hip to that. Just had a few questions.

The mixer menu is accessed by pressing the mode key, and then hitting one of the pads, can't remember which one. Basically the pads are essentially the number keys on the 2000.

You could have easily just not added if you aint got nothin productive
to breathe.

I was wondering that also, but now after reading the whole thing and reading his response, seems like the first post wasn't specific and detailed enough to fully understand what LM did and didn't do when playing with the 1k.

That's uncalled for, no matter race.

LM, you should try to elaborate on your questions a little better.

E-thugging, wow.

Thank you my *****. A simple questions with a simple answer. No static, no drama, no mentally retarded answers like the other kats. The store workers were busy as hell so I playing around with the machine and pretty much had to peep it myself. I did notice that the pads also played alot of movement with the 1000 such as setting the bpm. But personally thats a little dumb but if it works, it works.

And to my man Lampdog, no one's e-thuggin here dunny. I'm being honset. I don't play that crap off the net, so its no different on the net. That's childish remarks o'l boy was making, just madd disrespect. But it's all good. The net is home boys life in Chapel Hill NC. Ha. Bunch of southern baptist herbs.

Anyway man, homie above answered it for me.
