Then record the hi hats as stated above then after you have the beat you want, go back and erase the track with the hats.

what would probably work is to learn music theory and learn how to count music then the quantising wouldn't be an issue because you would know when to drop a kick, snare or whatever. not trying to come down or anything, just stating my thoughts

actually its not my timing. I even brought the MPC to a friend's place and he owns an mpc 2000 and he wanted to try out my 1000. He setted the settings to 1/16 as well and tried making a 4 bar drum loop. He has a sense of quantize and timing as well and after he recorded his drum loop, we replayed it and it was the same problem as well, the kicks and the snares would be totally off the beat.

For sure, ounds like a problem with the quantize / pads on that particular machine. Should still be under warranty.........
