Distorted Bass sound from my Turntable

I have my turntable hooked up to a dj mixer into my MPC. I have noticed when I turn the bass up on the mixer, I get this wierd bass distortion sound. I tried hooking my turntable up to my receiver and then into my MPC and I get the same sound. I also tried my friends turntable and I get the same sound. Inorder to sample without it being distorted I have to turn the bass down and it takes away from the quality of my sample. This has been pissing me off for awhile!!!
What should I do to get a clean, thick sample?

Probrably new needles, with old worn out needles the sound gets hissy and fuzzy in the high end and the bass gets less defined and boomy.

Thanks I'll try a new needle. But that sounds like to easy of a fix.

try to turn down the input nobb(volume) on your mpc.

or turn the gain down on your mixer.

cause you said you used another TT , and same thing, it has to be your volume levels

yeah, i would say try and just slightly tap the red in you mixer(by adjusting the input gain), then crank the mixer up(on the master gain) and turn down your rec gain(make sure not to clip) in the mpc. works for me. i keep the bass knob at around 11:30 and the treble knob around 1:30. i have a vestax 05 pro and i think that is the best preset for me to begin with in my sampling. see if that helps before you buy a new needle.
