Timestretching Options!?

I am seeking some advice and opinions on timestretching...what do most of you use?

I'm in the senario where I got a nice drum loop playing from the MPC at 94bpms.....then I find a break that plays at 106bpms......and I don't want to change the drum speed coz that is the exact speed I want the tune to run at and I don't want to change the pitch of the break coz this break just sounds heavy over the top...

Basically I've been using Acid for timestretching and I got this tune that would be sick, if only I could get the timestretch to be of a better quality and not sound like its breaking up so much....I can't get my head around the MPC's timestretching coz it takes so long and often isn't as accurate as I want it....

Any advice on this would be much appreciated,

I think I've got a cracked version of Sound Forge lying round my house somewhere. Is that the best to use then?....I never really got into it proppa....but if thats what people are suggesting...I'll break it out and put in work..

why is your mpc inaccurate?
If you loop your break perfectly and if you can count a little bit, it should stretch perfect.. Tho using another application for timestretching is a good idea as i dontlike the timestretcher on my mpc, it sounds horrible

yea man i dont know what ur talking about as far as the mpc timestreach being innaccurate, i find that the timestreach on the MPC is alot more realiable then software. Sounds like u dont know to much about your mpc's timestrech so your assuming your software is better

I aint assuming nothing....I just find the time it takes to stretch a loop on the MPC a bit out of order...and if it aint spot on first time...then trial and error with something that takes that long can be a pain in the ass

although I am interested to know how the MPC calculates the BPM of a loop..say if I've got a classical sample looped up and it tells me 205bpms how do I know if that is exactly correct?

no bullchit answers now...if what ya saying aint constructive then dont bother....

mess with the start point. Thats th emost difficult part in looping a break or bassline..
If the start point aint good, the loop will not sync very well after a few beats

You can also chop the break in little pieces .. Loops is for the sissy (just kidding)

I wonder which mpc you have and next did you count out the number of beats in your loop to get and accurate reading if you are reading 205 divide by 2 should be 102.5 bpm. Honestly you could just beatmap the drum loop and import or play it on your track and its all gravy cuz you as long as you are working with drums. Then you could play the loop practically 20bpms higher if you want. Generally I timestretch melodies and riffs. Also you can use the pitch control too. Think about chopping in 16ths. Others may chip in on this more. 1,2,3,4 djing.

Jus Make Sure Ur Loop Is Cut TO Loop Correctly then Load it In Acid Set Up Ur Properties and Poof U Can Dial in Any Reasonable Time Compression or Expansion!!!!

Yo Lamp...nice one for that link sta...am gonna try that shit out 2nite...and try stretching the break on SF, Acid & MPC2KXL to see what gives me the best results...
