I need to know how to EQ out sounds I don't want like if i have a snare that i found and there are other things going on, how do i single out the snare? Is there a chart that lists the frequencies or some sort of tutorial cause I can't find it here.

If it's a noisy sample then there is not much you can do except find a spot in the song where ONLY the snare hits. EQ will not fix that problem you are describing. I use noise gate for something like that and HOPE it catches only the snare hit(s) perfectly. Noise gate is very often a big part of my chopping ritual on the PC w/ sound forge. If something is going on at the EXACT same time as the snare hit then try sampling the same hit but in a different part of the record where it's only the snare.

but eq'ing is a way to get rid of a lot of shiz? i need to learn about this. I just got the eb16 effect board for my mpc and it has an eq so i want to make some use of it. and what about compression or whatever it takes to beef up sounds. basically, i want to sample some sounds to build a bank but i want to make them mine, like tweak them.

Compress is the opposite of "beef up".

What I would do is compress slightly then normalize.
you can set your compressor to identify all wave spikes above a certain db and "compress" them down to a certain db where afterwards the wave as a whole is more even, then normalize to make it maximum db without clipping (normalize).

Most of the time you have to find a sample that is not noisy.
I would be wasting my time if I tried to "EQ" out sounds I
didn't want in my sample. EQ will attempt to muffle the sounds
so they will not be as pronounced as the original but it won't take them out.

EQ and Compression techniques can be found everywhere on the net.
