is mpc2000 classic a good buy?

hi there.

i just want to ask about something...
i'm planning on buying an mpc....but they're to expensive for my pocket and i don't like ebay and that sh1t.
but i found one guy who wanted to sell his mpc2000 at a price i could afford...
and now i ask you....is mpc2000 a good buy?
i know it doesn't have that 4 key bank feature, track muting and that stuff.
but it seems kinda cool even though

I originally wanted an XL but I copped the classic. The only complaint I have is that it lacks the auto-chromate function but I overcome that by using the 16 levels function. And the classic does have the track mute function. I was also interested in the timestretch thing but I heard it takes a while to to do it. If I want to timestretch I just use SoundForge and I can probably get it back into the MPC quicker than the XL can do it on it's own

It's really not a big deal. If you want bank B hit the key once, bank C hit the key2x and for D hit it 3X. Less than a second to do so.

you can change sound banks and do track muting on the 2000......

ive had my mpc 2000 for like 5 years with no urge to upgrade. The only way ill upgrade is if this thing breaks, gets stolen or if i run into a bunch of money (ill keep the 2k though if its the latter)

Man, I make my beats with only the 2k and heads dig em. Its about the beatmaker not the beatmachine

I have an MPC2000 and the only feature I wish it had earlier on was the ability to play 4 programs at a time like the XL. But since I have a synth now, I only use my MPC for drums sampling and sequencing, so I don't really need to have all of those sounds loaded. But if you are going to be doing beats only on the MPC I would say XL, cuz that would save alot of time not having to fool around combing sounds etc to make one program. But for what I do the Classic is more than enough machine.
