The Hook Of The Fat Joe Track 'My Fo Fo' was created by a sample from the flinstones theme track!
Anyone Use Or Know about any other crazy samples used in tracks that come from unique sources?

I have used MANY video game riffs and snippets of samples.
The most bizarre snippet I used is when (DBZ FANS LISTENING?)
Fat Majin Buu destroy the city and it was annouced on the radio that the city was in ruins, there was a very faint but distinguishable sad type bell riff that was playing in the background, I sampled, eq'd, cut, chopped those bells and made a helluva rhythm line with.

Huh?????

I usually hate modern R&B, but that track kicks.

And the original sample is far from wack in IMO.

Im saying the original sample is wack but the way he flipped it is crazy. The beat is nice but I cant stand the original song. Sounds like some blue grass p funk shit. I dont know where it is originally from, I was looking for the production credits earlier.

Dude, the original sample is the frickin METERS!!
It's from the album Look-Ka Py Py....one of the most classic OG funk albums of all time.
Go around calling The Meters "wack bluegrass p-funk", I doubt you'll get many people in here to agree with you.

I always thought that underwater bubble type-sound on Jeru's 'Come Clean' was real cool. Premo flipped that sh*t nice with them Kool is Back drums. Can't remember the source of that main sound though. I think I got it on a comp. somewhere.

Another good one I don't know the source of is that little flange sweep on Jay-Z's H to the Izzo track. That track wouldn't be the same without that little sound in it. Kanye mighta made that sound from synths or sum'n.

I also would say in terms of freakers that Camron 'Oh boy' qualifies on some old WTF or WDITOT (Why didn't I think of that) type sh*t. That sample was plain as day but twisted up crazy, Just Blaaaaaze!!

Its my good friend Shelley Manne, the mediocre drummer who used to own the Mannehole in LA, a great old school jazz club. This one comes from his freakout album Mannekind. Everything else he did is strait up standards bull.
