You got some nice early 90's type ish here. I like the direction you're going. I like that Castle Hills And Rooftops joint.

I love that sample. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it on the Slaughtahouse album in an interlude near the end of the album. The samples been used by madd cats since. I think the last time was on Ludacris' last album, but it's still dope.

My criticism is that the sample is going too fast, there's too many kicks, and when you have the sample filtered and you run it like that for quite awhile it doesn't sound that good. It's not filtered enough plus you have it going for too long. It makes interest in the song drop at that point. When you filter it more later in the song so it's more of a pure bassline it sounds much better.

The MC's are pretty decent. I like the voices. Reminds me of PRT for some reason. I dunno. Keep up the good work. It's been awhile since that sounds been kickin around.

Drumatic, I peeped the newest beat on your soundclick page and it's decent. More of an interlude than a track but that hi hat is really buggin. I don't know if its the MP3 format messin with the sound quality but that ish is so loud that it's all my ears can focus on through out the beat. Simmer that hat down a little.

By the way...how's that 166xl treating you? I have a 160a but my boy has been using it on a project for a while now. I'm thinking about using a 166xl until he's done with the 160a.

Hippie White Guy?? ahhaha that's funny. I think I heard Rise before...did he do some solo track that was an ode to brooklyn maybe a year or two ago? If it's the same cat I don't think they sound similar at all. I think the "Hippie White Cat" is a cool MC regardless. That comment threw me off though hahaha. I gotta check out the rest of that site now.

I appreciate the comments and the multiple kicks on Castle hills is just how i get down....i'm all about the drums....i ain't on that simple ass metronome type - kick, snap, kick, snap, kick, snap shit yall be on. If you listen to my other beats on the album they vary from majorly complex drum patterns to simplified shit to experimental 80's sounding shit. That's just how I do.... Oh yeah - Rise? Rise was nice as hell in like 2001 when he did that joint with Dj Spinna and the other shit with the demigodz....but regardless he's a dope punchline emcee - Need Not is far from a punchline emcee...he's more of a philisophical storyteller like a prophet from Greece. His rhymes aren't overly sophisticated but they can get really deep on your ass if you don't listen close. Also have to realize that the style of music our first album was on some straight story shit. Anyhow...any use of samples or similarities between the sounds and ideas expressed in our music were purely coincidental and not intentional on any level as we abide by the ANTI-BITE policy.....peace.

I dig your style, but I don't agree with this statement. Most of your tracks use samples that have been used before. Not too mention the very essence of where your coming from is all about bringing that "90's" era back. Hence biting what was dope during that time, which is essentially what you are doing.
I even heard a track that sounded like a total Pete Rock rip off. You tried to come off with those signature Pete Rock Hi Hats.

Like I said...I dig your style, but don't go on about not biting and originality when your whole style is bit and you aren't original.
