adobe audition help

hey guys ive always used tape multi trackers and im trying to get into digital. i have a delta 44 sound card and adobe audition 1.5.. my question is..
multi track recording with more than 2 tracks?! all i get is 2 tracks panned left and right for recording i set the audio in channel to left and right imput accordingly. i get 2 tracks no prob but when i try to record a 3rd track on either left or right.. it bounces the initial track onto the 3rd.. so im not getting proper track seperation. anyone have any ideas on how to get this shizz working cuz its givin me the sweats... meybe i should stick to tape..FLUCK

You should RECORD ARM 3, RECORD ARM 4, then hit RECORD at the bottom.

Also, to get proper seperation you should get 8outs for your MPC (2kxl/2k).

(4 of the MPC 8outs into your delta 44)

im routing my beringher mixer into the delta 44 1 and 2 in. then the out 1 and 2 to a powerd moniter system. so all my outboard equip is going to my mixer mpc included. now. the question still remains as to how i record mono tracks on audition. please man treat me as a total **** rookie on this one cuz im lost and im about ready to **** toss my computer in the trash and go buy an otaki tape recorder again haha. thanks man

Yeah, u should have given your complete setup back at the first post and then we could have ran from there.

Instead you wanted me to confuse you more. Lotsa people do that, forget to explain their setup in detail when posting questions.

Anywho:
You got Behringer 1-2 to Detla 44 1-2
Delta 44 1-2 out to powered monitors.

In Adobe Audition 1.5 right click inside Trk1 and choose
RECORDING DEVICE
You should see your Delta 44 in there. Choose that Delta44 for whatever track you want it to record to.
You will have to right click inside of any/every track you want to record the Delta 44 in. You will also see the mono/stereo options in that RECORDING DEVICE screen.

OPTIONS at the main menu will show you F10. F10 is for toggling on/off showing/monitor record level in.

One of my friends had his MPC 2k going into his delta 44 and he had Audition 1.5 and I showed him the same thing.
I also have AA 1.5 loaded on my PC in case he has questions.

k lamp bare with me.. i know about that screen and heres what im doing. im selecting left in for a track. that track records from that 1 left imput only. now. when i select another track to record on the left in it also records whatever else was recorded on the previous track that was selected as left. im not sure what the hell im supposed to do. i cant select any specific outs when i right click the track window.. its damn confusing. seriously i thank you for the time to help i gotta get this shit working.

i think adobe audition is the same as CEP right.
you dont need to pan channels to get stereo tracks when it records it records in stereo already,
just check when your done recording what you want, there's a line that splits both sides LT/RT,
then to bounce you goto edit menu and there is a submenu that says mix down to empty track 1(bounce) , there you will be asked if you want all tracks mono or stereo (your choice)

thanks but no.. FLUCK THIS SHIZZ ok heres the problem in its most basic form......i record a track in stereo mono or whatever.. lets just say stereo the default stereo...... ok track recorded . now.. when i hit record on any other track to over dub something on top of that.. it includes thefirst track i recorded in my second (overdub) track... so basicly its just re recording everything into one un useable mess.

im not stressin on you guys seriously thanks for the help.. i just wish someone would write a basic fluckin program for recording.. not all this fancy ass bull shizzzzz..

when your done recording the first track turn the record switch off, the little red little should be off,
then mute it the track thats the M button, because if you dont mute it, it will record to the next track,
