saving programs help

2000xl: ive experimented with saving programs and the various otions but im just gonna ask this to clear things up for me

i have some folders on my disk which contain various sounds. i load some of these sounds into programs. i loop some of the samples and play with the filter etc to give the samples their own characteristics.

i want to be able to save the program so that when i reload it, all the samples will sound the way i left them.

how is this done?

Save as a new program. Or load up your program tweak it and save it under new program. Under save a program scroll down and turn the dial to the program you want to update and hit save. This will save your new settings.

so if i want to tweak my program, i have to save the tweaks as a new program?

i just tweak what i have to tweak and then when i save, i save the settings by overwriting the last ones,

it ask you if you want to save hit yes than it ask if you want to overwrite hit yes then when you load it up it comes up with your settings

what about saving the sounds aswell? do i have to save the the tweaked sounds again so the program can reload them the way i left them? (eg looped or whatever)

No, when you reload the program it automatically adjust the settings of your samples. The program itself is just as it was before meaning it will still load up the sounds as it did before you changed a few settings. In essence the program never changed only a couple tweaked paramaters.

Oh yeah, one more thing. You have the option of saving the program only. In your save program menu highlight the save pgm option and scroll it to save pgm only. Even using this option your sample program positions don't change either. this option records only the settings. Being that there is no need to save the sounds all over again because they are already saved .

if you change sample settings, like tuning, save sounds too.

so i DONT need to save sounds if i change settings in PROGRAMS but i DO have to save sounds if i change settings in EDIT.......is that right?

When you edit samples, change pad assignments, tune, decay, filter anything that is not part of a seq/song then you should save APS.

When you make changes to an actual seq or song then you should save ALL.

That is how I do it. Mixer settings is saved in ALL by the way.
