to all who consider themselves mpc pros

christ this guy's too funny.....

what did it say in the manual then? did it say when looping, the increments are done in bars and nothing smaller? hhhhhmmmmm......i always try the manual first you get a quicker and more accurate response that way...

For instance those who may have used say acid pro or any other sequence software know that it is possible to set loop points where ever you choose. That one of the reasons that I like software but the downside of software is that it pisses me off too much. I still love my mpc but i would like to see this feature.

Then maybe mpc isn't the right instrument for you neither. (what about the 4000?)
Like somebody else said, I never ever felt the need to do what you try to, but I can easyly figure 4-5 different ways to produce the kind of effect that you want without having the function you talk about.

Not knocking your hustle at all, I'm saying don't come asking for pro advice and you haven't even tried all you can try on your own. You never said to what extent you experimented, and your headline name really didn't have anything to do with the topic, AND who are you to judge who is a pro and who is not. That right there is something a KID spelled backwards would do. Everyone has their own definition of what a pro is, mentalize that and keep it in the back of your cerebellum. NOW you may go ahead and knock the hustle.

just curious, but if you're asking someone a question to an answer you don't know, how would you know if they knew what they were telling you??

uh, sorry to break it to you, but from my experiences in dealing with Akais CSRs, they were flipping thru the manual with me trying to figure out what I was trying to accomplish. They obviously didn't know either.

I'm not a 'Pro', but I may have a solution for you. it seems that you are creating your sequences with the quantize OFF, thus your notes are not alligned with the ticks of the sequencer. It may also be the case that the tempo of your music is not the same tempo as the sequence.

From your question it sounds like you want to manipulate the sequence as if it were a sample (thus the reference to Acid). What you are asking for (to be able to loop the sequence at any time) does not make sense because the timing information is tied to the sequence. If you were looping a sample that makes sense because there is no timing information associated with a sample. Does this make sense?

I would suggest sampling your sequence, and then cuting it such that it loops how you want it to. Then load the sample into the MPC and trigger it at the first bar of your sequence. You may also need to adjust the temp such that the whole sample plays, and loops correctly.
