32mb memory and a zip drive

i recently bought an mpc 200xl and have began experimenting with it a little bit. My main problem is that i only have 10 seconds sample time in stereo......................the solution get an extra 32 mb memory and a zip drive. my only problem is i dont know how to do this and im not sure where i can take it to get it done.
does the extra memory have to be built in or can you add it externally and also how would i connect a zip drive (scsi port??) and is there any special requirements when working with an akai.

You have to buy a memory chip(s) and install them - most hitech music shops can do this for you.

Have a read of the FAQs on the main site for general info on how to hook stuff up to your MPC.

also make sure you read your manual and take a look at the documentation that came with it(service list, warranty, etc.)...this should answer most if not all of your tech questions...
I would not deal with a scsi drive if I were you.....just get yourself 2 good cheap atapi/ide internal zip drives(one for your pc another for the MPC) and the mpc zip kit(which you can order from akai directly if you choose) and install 'em yourself(which is a relatively painless procedure as long as you remember to GROUND YOURSELF BEFORE TOUCHING ANY INTERNAL COMPONENTS)...the same thing with the 32mb ram...Just cop two 16mb chips from any music store or pc shopand pop 'em in...not hard at all...
Just make sure you have read many of the primary documents(manual) and done the necessary research before asking any more questions....that way you'll have an easier time getting a response in the future....good luck and let us know how it comes along.....
