Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

yo i tried searching for this but no dice

anyway is there an easy/fast way to clear all the memory on the mpc?
i.e. i finished wit one beat and want to start working on another one but don't want to power off and then power right back on just to start fresh na mean?

right now i've just been using purge and then turning tracks off and erasing them wit the open window button, just wondering if there is a better way than this ,maybe one magical button that erases everything?

thanks a lot everybody, the help is much appreciated

oh and im workin on a 2000xl

I was just thinking about this last night.....

I know its bad to turn anything on and off over and over again, if only because components will wear out.

But I can offer no other suggestions - I always power on and off when im done working with a particular set of programs and sequences and want to move on to another one.

if i remember it right there is no magic button but in trim mode when erasing a sound i think you can choose to erase all sounds in one go, same with sequences

Pretty much save them(snds. aps. all. seq.) and then delete them all.

that last post and the one before kinda threw me off, but when I want to do this all I do is put the cursor over the sequence name (main screen), hit open window, then delete, and then 'all seq'. That deletes all sequences(/songs I think). For the sounds you got loaded in the memory, go into trim mode highlight the name of the first sample that comes up and press open window, delete, all sounds. That deletes all the sounds loaded. And if you want to delete your program(s), open the program screen, and it's the same process again.

Peace
