Break Downs

Is anyone out there familiar with those bar break downs that Just Blaze and Chad West are know for? I have a method, but it's really time consuming. I was just wanting to know how you all get it done.

"Loop" and the orange button are your friend.....

I hear you Boogie, but it's breaking down the whole bar, not a break down within the bar. I'm using the XL by the way, forgot to mention that earlier.

thats what I'm talking about...breaking down 1 bar or two, or however many u like....

now i know what the orange button is, but what do you mean by loop? like can you elaborate on what you meant by "loop " and "orange button

it's the open window button to the rigth of the mainscreen button

nah, the loop function for a bar....you can have a 4 bar loop, but set it to only loop bars 2 and 3 for example...

Sample a TOM DRUM and scale it on note with 9.

Start at the highest drum and use 4 drums hits (hit the pad 4 times) to every second then go to the next pad and so on till your time is up on the sequence.

PRIME EXAMPLE--LISTEN TO YOUNG JEEZY'S AND THEN WHAT--MANNIE FRESH IS THE KING OF BREAKDOWNS. It's easy just practice it. You can use the noet repeat key on 1/16 to make it easier.

This can be done a lot easier by holding down the 'Main Screen' and 'Note repeat' Buttons and rthen ride the breakdown up or down the scale.

The type of breakdown that I'm refering to is not done within the bar,but the entire bar itself is broken down. I know that it sounds like I'm saying the same thing, but I'm really not. If you listen to Just Blaze of Chad Wes, you'll see what I'm talking about. I know how to do it, my process just takes longer that I would like. I was trying to see if anyone was familiar with this any had another way of doing it.

Only other thing I can come up with is the pitch shift where Blaze plays a note off an analog keyboard and then uses the pitch shift wheel on his keyboard and bends the sounds (breaks it down).

OR they make multiple sequences and take their notes down a key per sequence. I don't know man--Good luck
