Buying a turntable..what to look for?

Im bout to buy a turntable nd mixer and im wonderin if i cud get away with just a simple $99 turntable from radioshack or do i need to invest in something more expensive like technics? , i mean i only plan to use it to catch a loop off a record (no scratchin or sh*t like that)

people say technics sound quality is the best but i cant see the difference when i use my shity stantons it dont sound no different. cheap tables are cool just get some goood needles. like shure 44-7s or ortofon's or some audiphile needds. idk about radio shack turntables though.technics are a really good investment though even if your just getting one. i mean they will last you if your going to be into sampling for the meny years to come! i mean they should last you twice as long if you dont cut on them. haha but yeha dude i would say invest for some used techincs. their going for like 300 bucks on ebay.

go cheap. I bought a cheap numark turntable used for like 100 and it sounds just as good as my technics did when I had them.

Yeah I also have a 100 dollar numark. Its a really great turntable. I couln't tell you about the sound difference between the technics cause I have had the pleaseure to use on hands on.

Gemini XL120MKII Belt Drive Turntable

i got that gemini xl-120 but a gray one, and i got a numark mixer for liek 105 combined...works perfectly for sampling. no complaints at all.

the TT dont really matter , it's the needle that produces the sound,
i got tech12's cause i dj and i use to take'm to party's and you need a relieable TT, but if you just want it to sample then something inexpensive is cool

i use a cheap gemini xl 100, got it from a kid up the street, gave him my old timberlands for it
